As part of my ongoing research at the University of Delaware, I’m interested in people on the West Coast’s experiences with wildfire season, evacuation, and the ways COVID-19 may have complicated this. I hope to speak with as many people as possible in order to better understand the effects of these cascading disasters. A better understanding of factors in wildfire evacuation can potentially lead to societal benefits from better-informed planning at an operational level.

Interviews are expected to last between 20 and 90 minutes, depending on how long you wish to speak. Current rolling average: 26 minutes.

Please email me at efyoung@udel.edu to set up an interview time! I have availability Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and weekend afternoons. Once we’ve set a time, I’ll send you a link to a scheduled Zoom meeting. While this is video conferencing software, accessible either by phone or computer, if you are uncomfortable with video, it can be done audio-only.

Unfortunately, I am only able to do interviews in English at this time.
